The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, through its Fisheries Post Harvest Technology Division (FPHTD), conducted the Seafood Safety and Fish Processing Training for Fisherfolk Organization on June 1-2, 2022 in Cavite.
With coordination and support from the local government units and the Provincial Fisheries Office- Cavite, the two-day training was held successfully in Tanza and Naic. It was attended by 35 fisherfolk per municipality.
The resource speakers and trainor were also personnel from FPHTD under the supervision of Ms. Haide Rojas. The training focused on proper fish handling principles, practices, and sanitation standard operating procedures. Participants were also trained and provided with materials for Bangus deboning.
This initiative of the BFAR Central Office is part of the celebration of the Artisanal Fisherfolk Month and Fisherfolk Month 2022. (ablatigay)
