IN PHOTOS: Regional Director Sammy A. Malvas and the Legislated Hatchery Team of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources 4A leds the Preparatory meeting with the LGU of Alabat and Perez, Quezon regarding the turnover of the Legislated Multi-Species Marine Hatchery.
The said meeting aims to ensure a seamless coordination and effective implementation of the program, driving a sustainable fisheries management and economic development in our region.
As per the Republic Act for the Establishment of Multi-Species Marine Hatcheries in the Province of Quezon Section 2, the DA-BFAR shall, within two (2) years after the construction of the multi-species marine hatchery, transfer the management of the same to the local government unit concerned through a memorandum of agreement. It shall implement a training and phasing-in program for local government personnel on the management and operation of the hatchery.
