LOS BAÑOS, Laguna, February 20 — The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources 4A holds a meeting with the Institute of Social Order, Inc. (ISO) to discuss and resource sharing collaboration regarding the implementation of the ‘Strengthening Integrated Resources Management in Coastal Communities in Quezon, Philippines through Participatory Governance’ Project.
As part of the project, the ISO will perform a Bay-wide Participatory Vulnerability and Capacity Needs Assessment – Resource and Ecological Assessment for Quezon’s 17 partner municipalities.
The initiative, funded by the European Union, intends to protect municipal fisherfolk’s economic and political rights by increasing their involvement in resource governance at the local level through the reactivation of some MFARMCs and further strengthening of the IFARMC for Lamon Bay.
