








The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region 4A, headed by Regional Director Sammy A. Malvas, and BFAR III Regional Director and Focal for National Broodstock Development Program Mr. Wilfredo M. Cruz, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Alabat and Southern Luzon State University-Alabat Campus witnessed the inauguration of the newly-constructed Legislated Hatchery.
In CALABARZON, there are 10 Legislated Hatcheries being targeted in the 4th district of Quezon Province. The hatchery in Alabat is one of them as per RA 10949 authored by Hon. Angelina DL. Tan.
It is expected that the hatchery will produce an estimated 1.5 million pieces of crablets that will supply and meet the demands of fishpond operators in the nearby municipalities.
Present during the inauguration was 4th District Representative Congressman Atty. Mike Tan and members of the Sangguniang Bayan of Alabat, Fisherfolk Associations and students from SLSU.
