Cash incentives were awarded to the first Summa and Magna Cum laude scholars of BFAR4A’s Fisheries Scholarship Program (FSP). The cash incentives were awarded during the 54th Commencement Exercises of Batangas State University held at the Alfonso G. Joson Gymnasium last August 12, 2022.

BFAR 4A awarded fifty thousand pesos (₱50,000) to Ms. Esa M. Lumayor, who graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Fisheries. Meanwhile, Ms. Lhara Jane S. Enozo was awarded thirty thousand pesos (₱30,000) for being Magna Cum laude.

The cash awards were given in recognition of the students’ efforts to complete their studies and for achieving the highest honor. Ms. Endozo and Ms. Lumayor, along with Mr. Marven G. Mendoza, are among the 10th batch of scholars under the bureau’s FSP-Fisherfolk Children Educational Grant.

FSP aims to provide financial support to qualified students who will take the BS Fisheries course under the following programs: Fisherfolk Children Educational Grant, Fisheries Industry Leader Grant, and Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous People.
