Consistent with its commitment to support our local farmers and fishpond operators, the Provincial Fisheries Office – Cavite (PFO-Cavite) facilitated the distribution of freshwater prawn (ulang) post-larvae in Cavite last August 4 at the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, Trece Martires City.

BFAR 4A accommodated requests from six (6) municipalities/cities in Cavite (Maragondon, Tanza, Naic, Silang, General Trias City and Magallanes) in collaboration with the National Integrated Fisheries Technology Development Center which produces quality ulang larvae. Twenty-nine (29) beneficiaries received a total of 20,000 Ulang post-larvae.

PFO-Cavite staff Ms. Nilda A. Engcoy and Mr. Lawrence M. Calapan led the distribution with the assistance of OPA-Cavite personnel.

This activity is one of the initiatives of the bureau to ensure increased food production as the communities are recovering from the crisis due to COVID19 pandemic.(ablatigay)
