IN PHOTOS: Regional Director Sammy A. Malvas of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources 4A took an active part during the consultative meeting led by Tanauan City Mayor Nelson P. Collantes. The activity aims to address the concerns of the fisherfolk affected by the upcoming closed fishing season of Sardinella tawilis.
Six (6) lakeshore barangays of Tanauan City, namely, Brgy. Wawa, Brgy. Ambulong, Brgy. Bañadero, Brgy. Maria Paz, Brgy. Boot, Brgy. Gonzales, will be affected by the said closed fishing season from March to April 2024 thus, provision of financial assistance was initiated by the LGU. RD Malvas emphasized the importance of collaborative teamwork between BFAR 4A and LGU Tanauan to provide the needed interventions to the affected fisherfolk.
