BFAR-4A kicks-off “Bangka Mo, Gawa Mo” program for the municipalities of Real, Infanta, and General Nakar in Quezon province. 20 fiber glass-reinforced 20-footer fishing boats will be constructed by the 40 beneficiaries themselves. They will be trained and supervised by BFAR technical personnel.

The kick-off ceremony was led by Quezon First District Representative, Congressman Wilfrido Mark M. Enverga; BFAR-4A Regional Director Sammy A. Malvas, Provincial Fishery Officer Allan Castillo; Sub-PFO Head Roselle Lucero; and Local government representatives.

Distributed also during the said event were 27 units hook and line; 15 units bottom set gill nets; 1 unit smoke house; and 75 sets of assorted IEC materials.

In his message, Congressman Enverga highlighted the importance of agriculture and fisheries especially during this time of COVID-19 pandemic. “Sa panahong ito ng pandemya, tanging ang sektor lamang ng Agrikultura ang nagtala ng paglago sa lahat ng sektor ng ating ekonomiya. At sa sektor ng agrikultura ang pangisdaan ang nagdala ng paglagong ito.”
