The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources 4A (BFAR4A) through the Provincial Fisheries Office (PFO)-Quezon participates in the awarding ceremony of agri-fishery assistance to selected fisherfolk and association last August 14, 2020 at the Multi-purpose Covered Court, Panukulan, Quezon, through the effort of Hon. Congressman Wilfrido Mark M. Enverga.

Ten (10) sets of Fish Aggregating Device (FAD) or Deep Sea Payao/boya, amounting to more than 1 million pesos was awarded to the Bongliw Fishermans Association as part of the livelihood intervention of the DA-BFAR, which is also part of the project proposal submitted to the Office of Secretary William D. Dar. 40 pcs. sinkers for payao were the counterpart of the said association. In addition, ten (10) sets of hook and line were also awarded to the selected fisherfolk of Panukulan, Quezon. The deployment of payao will provide fishermen a specific area to catch fish. In areas where payao was installed, only-handline fishing is permitted. This will also help them save fuel in searching for fish to catch.

The said project (payao) came from the BFAR- National Marine Fisheries Development Center (NMFDC).

Other National Agencies that extended assistance include the Department of Agriculture (distributes hand tractors, cacao seedlings, and live chicken for propagation); Department of Social Welfare and Development (cash assistance to 700 constituents; Php 25 thousand loan assistance under Expanded SURE Aid program of DA-ACPC with zero interest payable in 10 years); and the Office of Congresswoman Helen Tan, 4th District, Quezon (free flu vaccine).
