The BFAR-Region 4A through the Regional Fisheries Training and Fisherfolk Coordination Division (RFTFCD) and Fisheries Post-Harvest and Marketing Division (FPHMD), in coordination with the Regional Fisheries Information Management Center (RFIMC) conducted its 11th session in a series of E-Learning Trainings on August 4, 2020.

The 11th session discussed “Training on Livelihood Opportunities on Fish Processing” which included topics on the “Basic Facts on Fish Handling” composition of fish, its nutritional benefits and the importance of fish handling. Aside from this, the proper way of preparing and cooking was shown.

  1. Surimi or pure fish meat
  2. Fish Nuggets
  3. Fish Burger Patty
  4. Fish Embutido

The 38 participants that attended the training came from the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Bataan, Laguna, Quezon, Isabela, Batangas, Cavite, Aklan, Ilocos Norte, Romblon, Nueva Ecija, Agusan Del Norte and Albay, the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, Quezon City, Davao, Antipolo, Iligan, and Marawi and the country of Singapore.

The Resource Speakers who showed their expertise were Ms. Erica Lopez and Mr. Joseph Ryan Ligsa from BFAR-4A -FPHMD.
